With Saab and Tesla into the future

Saab has been sold, to National Electric Vehicle Sweden, a Swedish-Japanese-Chinese consortium headed by Kai Johan Jiang. As the name suggests, this is a company interested in electricity. And in fact, NEVS has some serious ambitions. The aim is, through use of Saab’s expertise and Japanese technology, to become a leading manufacturer of electric vehicles. What a statement!

Saab has always stood for innovation and unconventional thinking. Wind-tunnel testing in 1947, engine right-sizing through turbo technology in the 70s, and safety standards years ahead of the competition. Electricity therefore feels like a logical next step, a natural evolution of the Saab way.

There is no denying that burning dirty fuels is insane. It is damaging to our planet, our health and our future. And worst of all, it is completely unnecessary. There are better alternatives available today, so it just doesn’t make any sense to continue burning dinosaurs.

What’s this? This is the new Tesla Model S, an all-electric full-size 5-door hatchback, set to be released in just a few days. It goes from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and travels 480 km on a single charge. Oh, and it looks absolutely amazing! Now, imagine a slightly different design, maybe a hockey-stick side line, some ice-block headlights, two pairs of 3-spoke wheels and perhaps a Griffin logo… Does that not excite you?

Looking at this Tesla I realise just how possible the electric car is. And not in a distant future kind of way, but right here, right now. It’s already here, ready for the eco-revolution. And Saab absolutely needs to take a leading roll in this revolution, because that is what Saab has always done best.

With this post I would like to welcome Saab’s new owners and wish them the best of luck in realising their visions. When the electric Griffin is ready, count me in as one of your customers!

Truth

It’s so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said
As I drown in my regrets
I can’t take back the words I never said

I really think the war on terror is a bunch of bullshit
Just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets
How much money does it take to really make a full clip
9/11 building 7 did they really pull it
And a bunch of other cover ups
Your child’s future was the first to go with budget cuts
If you think that hurts then, wait here comes the uppercut
The school was garbage in the first place, that’s on the up and up
Keep you at the bottom but tease you with the uppercrust
You get it then they move you so you never keeping up enough
If you turn on TV all you see’s a bunch of “what the fucks”
Dude is dating so and so blabbering about such and such
And that ain’t Jersey Shore, homie that’s the news
And these the same people that supposed to be telling us the truth
Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist
Gaza strip was getting bombed, Obama didn’t say shit
That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either
I’m a part of the problem, my problem is I’m peaceful
And I believe in the people

Now you can say it ain’t our fault if we never heard it
But if we know better than we probably deserve it
Jihad is not holy war, where’s that in the worship
Murdering is not Islam
And you are not observant
And you are not a Muslim
Israel don’t take my side cause look how far you’ve pushed them
Walk with me into the ghetto, this where all the Kush went
Complain about the liquor store but what you drinking liquor for
Complain about the gloom but when’d you pick a broom up
Just listening to Pac ain’t gonna make it stop
A rebel in your thoughts, ain’t gonna make it halt
If you don’t become an actor you’ll never be a factor
Pills with million side effects
Take them when the pain’s felt
Wash them down with diet soda
Killing off your brain cells
Crooked banks around the world
Would gladly give a loan today
So if you ever miss a payment
They can take your home away

I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence
Fear is such a weak emotion that’s why I despise it
We’re scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth
So scared of what you think of me, I’m scared of even telling you
Sometimes I’m like the only person I feel safe to tell it to
I’m locked inside a cell in me, I know that there’s a jail in you
Consider this your bailing out, so take a breath, inhale a few
My screams is finally getting free, my thoughts is finally yelling through

Lupe Fiasco – Words I Never Said

Saab is NOT dead

So, Saab and Victor Muller finally succumbed to the beatings of the ignorant, the pessimists, the greedy and the paper-pushers. Saab declared bankruptcy on Monday after having failed to break through the many barriers erected by GM, the Swedish Government and the EIB et al.

Not surprising.

I’ve been a fan for 13 years and have had to watch for most of that time this beautiful company being beaten down, mistreated and chained up. And for what? For being different? For thinking outside of the box? For innovating? For daring to ask questions no one else asks? For building cars that don’t look like Camrys?

GM was already content with terminating Saab two years ago. And they would’ve succeeded had it not been for all-around champion Victor Muller. He stepped in, rolled back the imposed wind-down process and forced Saab back on the right track, one of innovation and individualism. The only track Saab should walk.

And now? The whole world cries out that Saab is dead, that the end of the road is here, that the inevitable has happened. This was predicted. It couldn’t have been any other way. What a lot of BS. Saab has never been more alive than now!

Saab was dead during 20 years of GM ownership. It had the largest automotive entity backing it and yet only managed to release two new models during the first ten years, followed by two badge-engineer fake-Saabs and finally one new 9-3.

During the last two years however, Saab released three new models, established strategic partnerships, released an entire range of sub-119g CO2 engines and shone with a new-found vibrancy not seen since the early 80s.

The only thing Saab needs to succeed is a parent with money and UNDERSTANDING. GM had the money but absolutely no understanding. Spyker had a world full of understanding but no money. I know the right owner is out there, and I know they’re dying to save what can be saved.

I am convinced that Saabs story has only just begun. It is the greatest company in the world, producing the best cars in the world, followed by the greatest fans in the world and it is more eager than ever to show the world what it can do.

What more do you need?

Griffin Up!!!

Boycott Mainstream Media

If you trust Mainstream Media to provide you with objective and truthful news, you’re bound to get scammed over and over. Sure, they’re supposed to be factual, critical and even balanced. But are they really? In most cases we find they’re actually extremely one-sided.

The world doesn’t just consists of war, death, corruption, economic crisis’, natural disasters, disease and impending doom. If that were the case, what would your life look like? Think about it! Are things really as horrible as we’re made to believe?

Mainstream Media will report on anything that will ignite your fears and make you pay attention (emphasis on pay). Why is that, you ask? Because being factual isn’t as profitable as playing on peoples fears and prejudices.

Media outlets are in the end nothing but corporations destined to do whatever it takes to make a profit. So even though their main focus should be on delivering independent and factual information, this objective is always a slave to the strive for profits.

That’s why I choose to ignore Mainstream Media. And so should you. If you really want to know what’s going on, start paying attention to your surroundings. Does anything align with what you’ve been told? It might do so on the surface, but dig a little deeper and you’ll be surprised…

It’s showtime people!

WikiLeaksLogo

WikiLeaks is at it again, showing us what’s really going on behind the scenes. This time it’s all about Guantanamo, and as usual they’ve teamed up with a number of media outlets to release some 779 documents relating to the prison and its inmates.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Establishment will react to this leak. They didn’t take the last big leak all that well, and chances are they haven’t learnt much since. Time to sit back and enjoy the show :)
