I had an important insight this week. I will master and produce my debut album myself. This is kind of important because it means I will be able to release my album much quicker than I otherwise could. It also means that this album will be fully in my hands, fully in my control. There will be no need to worry about finding a mastering studio, or a producer with the ‘right kind of ear’. My ears will do just fine! The songs have been complete for over a year now, and time is just flying away. I’m getting impatient and it is time to do something about it. 

So, with this new direction, when will things start to happen? Right now! I have already mastered all songs and now just have to fine-tune them to perfection. What way I will go in terms of distribution is still up in the air, but for various reasons, digital will be priority #1. However, I already decided a whole year ago that this album would see the light of day in a physical format as well. It just feels nice to ‘touch’ an album, doesn’t it?

Other than that, most of the artwork is already done. The song list and order are both done. The plan for the whole thing is at least in the making, but I don’t think it will be too difficult to work out the rest. Most things in my life are on a ‘see as I go’ basis anyway so I am sure this will be as awesome as I imagine it to be. Stay tuned!
